About Stomp Your Guitar
Stomp Your Guitar is a guitar pedal reference site built for players who want to understand their gear, not just buy it.
Every guide covers what a pedal type actually does, how it works in a signal chain, and which specific pedals are worth your money at different price points. We cover compressors, EQ, octave, looper, pitch shifter, distortion, overdrive, fuzz, delay, reverb, chorus, phaser, flanger, wahs, and more.
Who writes this
I’m Alan Myers. I’ve been playing electric guitar for almost four decades. I grew up on ’80s rock, prog, and metal, attended Berklee College of Music in the ’90s, and spent years in tech support and QA at Twelve Tone Systems, the developers of Cakewalk and SONAR MIDI DAW software. I’ve been deep in guitar gear and music technology longer than most of the YouTube channels covering it.
Stomp Your Guitar exists because most pedal content online is either spec sheets rewritten as articles or affiliate listicles with no real explanation of what the pedal actually does to your signal. That’s the gap this site fills.
